To assess existing capacities and potential in the field of medical tourism, Mr. Honarvar—Head of Medical Tourism at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences—accompanied by Ms. Ali-Akbari—Officer for International Medical Tourism at the Treatment Deputy of North Khorasan University of Medical Sciences—visited the International Patients Department (IPD) of Khatam-ol-Anbia Hospital in Shirvan on September 8, 2026.

On the occasion of Doctors' Day, Dr. Aghel, the Mayor of Shirvan, accompanied by Dr. Mianji, the Head of the Shirvan Health and Treatment Network, visited various wards of Khatam-ol-Anbia Hospital on September 5, 2026.

In line with the hospital's strategic goals to enhance the quality of medical services and clinical care, the "Nutrition Committee" convened on September 2, 2026, attended by the Hospital Director, Dr. Masoud Amini, and a group of colleagues.

To foster scientific and international cooperation and expand healthcare-related interactions, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between North Khorasan University of Medical Sciences and the Afghan-Uzbek Medical Hospital in Afghanistan. The agreement was finalized and exchanged following a visit by Dr. Seyed Abdolkhalegh Hashemi—Deputy for International Patients Department (IPD) affairs at the Afghan-Uzbek Medical Hospital—to Imam Hassan Hospital in Bojnurd, where he inspected the facility's telemedicine and IPD capabilities and met with the university's Director of International Affairs.

On the occasion of the day commemorating Zakariya Razi, the esteemed Head of the Hospital, Dr. Amini, visited the pharmacy unit to offer congratulations and express her appreciation for the hard work and valuable services of their colleague, Dr. Ghodsi.

The President of North Khorasan University of Medical Sciences announced plans to attract patients from neighboring countries and develop health tourism in the province, stating that despite existing challenges regarding tourism and transportation infrastructure, practical steps have been taken to introduce North Khorasan to the health tourism market.
